Sermon Series on Psalm 31 and Psalm 71

Psalm 31 - “You’re in God’s hands!”

Psalm 31-15.jpg

This Sunday (September 23rd) at Lord and Savior Ev. Lutheran Church, the congregation will highlight Psalm 31, which has “time” as one of its themes, especially in verse 15: "My times are in your hands.” Pastor David Carlovsky’s sermon that day will have a theme  of: "YOU'RE IN GOD'S HANDS!”

I. God gives us a time of grace to believe

II. God gives us time to use our fruits of faith

III. God will give us eternity instead of time

Psalm 71 - “God is our refuge from age to age!”

The following Sunday (September 30th), we will highlight Psalm 71, with its verse:  "Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation...” (verse 18).  Pastor Carlovsky will focus on two themes from this psalm: first, on God’s timeless righteousness; secondly, the phrase "age to age" will highlight the Lord's blessings to us, whatever age we are (including old age).  The sermon theme will be:   "GOD IS OUR REFUGE FROM AGE TO AGE!"

I. God is our refuge--as we learned in our youth!

II. God is our refuge--even in old age!
