Mark 10:46-53: Share a Blind Man’s Leap of Faith
On Sunday, October 28th, Lord and Savior Ev. Lutheran Church will have a guest preacher: Pastor Jack Kelly of Our Savior’s, Zion, Illinois. Pastor Kelly will be preaching on Mark 10:46-53. His theme will be:
“Share a Blind Man's Leap of Faith”:
(1) A hop for help
(2) A jump for joy.
Psalm 46: No Fear
The following Sunday, November 4th, the congregation will celebrate REFORMATION DAY by highlighting the great Reformation psalm, Psalm 46. Hymns will include "A Mighty Fortress", "Be Still My Soul", and "In Christ Alone." All three hymns express thoughts recorded in Psalm 46. The choir will also be singing a version of Psalm 46 that week: "God Is Our Refuge and Strength." (The choir is also singing "Built on the Rock.” We are reminded that Psalm 46 was a favorite "hymn" of many an Old Testament believer, too, because the psalm — like those hymns — expresses the quiet confidence that we have in the Lord in spite of life's struggles.) The theme for the sermon will be:
(I) God is our refuge!
(II) God is still with us!
